Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, evaluating and efficient operation of assigned clinical and non-clinical departments while supporting the philosophy, mission, and vision of the hospital. Supervises personnel in the following areas: Medical-Surgical Unit; Emergency Room; Surgical Services; Case Management; Diabetes Management; Nursing Supervisors; Nutritional Therapy; Staff Education and; other departments as assigned.
FSLA status: exempt.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
VA Registered Nurse license or license-eligible
MSN or related Master's degree preferred.
Three to five years of progressive supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
Verbal and written communication skills necessary to for dealing effectively with staff, patients, and visitors and others.
Ability to prioritize workload and work productively under stress.
Displays a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
