A' Purpose of the position:
A' The North Carolina Aquariums at Roanoke Island is seeking a dynamic, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Building Superintendent! A' This position will take on the responsibilities for the operation and maintenance of the North Carolina Aquarium at Roanoke Island's 63,000 square feet state operated physical plant.
Key
Responsibilities:
Responsible for operation and maintenance of all mechanical systems, maintenance of life support systems, grounds maintenance, security, fire, septic system, and maintenance of the facility structure.
Staff supervision, inventory, shipping and receiving, and coordination of maintenance contracts.
(This is accomplished by using in-house housekeepers and mechanics under his/her direct supervision and outside contractors).
A' Reports to the Director of Operations and Husbandry and works closely with all other staff to support their department's many and varied requirements.
Provide and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for both staff and visitors.
Ensuring that the Aquarium is operated as efficiently as possible using the latest housekeeping techniques, energy saving strategies, and through the efficient use of supplies, materials, and staff.

A' The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island is located in Manteo, NCA' nine miles from the Atlantic coastline in Nags Head.
The 61,000 square-foot facility is sited on 16 acres overlooking the Croatan Sound and houses over 2200 animals.
More than 280,000 guests visit the aquarium each year to see a large array of sharks, learn about sea turtle conservation, participate in a variety of programs, enjoy the beauty of the area, and learn why North Carolina's waterways are so special.

A' Qualified candidates must have:
A' Demonstrated experience in facility maintenance.
A' Demonstrated experience in at least three of the following categories:
Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, motor maintenance, pump operation (life support systems), Drywall finishing/repair, Refrigeration maintenance, Roofing/siding installation, or Metal fabrication/welding.
General knowledge of safety standards and facility maintenance.
Supervisory experience.
A' Must have a valid NC Driver's License or have the ability to obtain for employment.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four (4) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades including one (1) year of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualification:
May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
